Hi Guys! So here we are again with Mama et Meets. This month we get to meet the lovely Sarah from missbettyandme. As you get to know Sarah you will find out she has recently been blogging for the amazing Charity, Kicks Count. You may have seen her recently looking gorgeous in our maternity maxi dress.
If you haven’t heard of Kicks Count, they advocate the importance of understanding a baby’s movement patterns during pregnancy and to empower mums to be with knowledge and confidence in pregnancy. You can find out more about the charity http://www.kickscount.org.uk/
So let’s get comfy and get to know Sarah a little better …

1) Tell us a little about yourself & how your blog came about?
I’m Sarah, wife to Jonny and mummy to Betty and I’m currently growing a little boy due to arrive in July. I live in surrey and spend my days being a mummy and a nanny to two children after school.
I’ve dabbled in a personal blog for the past 4 years mainly to jot down things that I don’t want to forget but it’s not something I work full time on as I actually found it stressful and was always number watching which took the fun out of it.
I currently blog for the charity Kicks Count as their pregnancy blogger. I’ve been supporting them for years after they were brought to my attention by my sister in law who is now the CEO of the charity. They work so hard to spread their message and if I can spread the word about the charity just a tiny bit more and steer a new mummy into their direction via the blog then I’ll be happy.
2) How do you juggle work/being a mama and keeping your blog up together?
I’m so lucky as my husband gets home from work just before I head out to start my working day so we tag team parenting each afternoon and I do my best to blog whilst Betty is at pre school. That doesn’t always work though as I love the sofa too much!
3) Who are you top blogger influencers and why?
I don’t have a go to blogger that I always catch up on but instead I dip in and out of blogs and vlogs that I feel I can relate to or that are chatting about something that I have an interest in. This can vary hugely from pregnancy to fashion to home improvements. Depends what mood I’m in each day
4) What have been your blog high’s and low’s ?
I must admit I can’t think of any lows, how lucky am i?! A high definitely has to be being asked to blog for Kicks Count!
5) Three top tips you wish you knew when you started to blog?
How to be technically savvy… I have very basic knowledge when it comes to technical stuff and I feel it holds me back.
It’s good to stand out and have something a little different to offer but stick to being you.
Think about where you want to go with your blog and focus on that and perhaps create a theme for your blog mainly, so your readers know what they are getting and you can build up a solid, loyal following.
6) What was your weirdest pregnancy craving?
Haha, this one is from my pregnancy with Betty and it still doesn’t make sense in my head…
It was towards the end of my pregnancy probably 36 weeks or so and I needed a drink from a jug. It couldn’t be any old squash it had to be a particular flavour (I didn’t know what the flavour was though) and it HAD to be from a jug. I couldn’t drink this certain drink from glass or even pour it from the jug into a glass.
So there I was wandering around Sainsburys looking for a flavour of drink that I thought would satisfy my craving and the ruddy jug too. I spent many a happy afternoon in the garden sipping the raspberry and lemon juice through a straw, from the jug. Have you ever heard of such a bizarre craving?!

7) What is the one thing you wish you knew before you had your baba?
How much it would change your life. Everyone tells you but I don’t know of anyone that fully appreciates how much a baby changes things before they arrive. Your.whole.world.changes. Mainly for the good ?
8) If you could only have one item, what is the one thing as a Mama you couldn’t live without?
Snacks!!
9) Last time you had a full night’s sleep?
Hahahahaha.
Four years ago? I honestly don’t think I’ve slept through fully in the last four years
10) Most embarrassing Motherhood moment?
I can’t think of anything but I’m sure there must be something, perhaps it’s so embarrassing that I’ve blocked it out!
11) If you had 48 hours without the munchkins what would you do?
A spa day, a full night relaxing and sleeping in my own bed, a lazy morning having breakfast and catching up on rubbish TV, shopping and then a lazy afternoon before Betty arrives back home!
12) What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
Oh I’m terrible at these sorts of questions, I can’t think of anything!
13) What has been the funniest mummy/daddy fails that has happened to you?
Probably thinking taking Betty on a Caribbean holiday at the age of one was a good idea. Everyone told us not to but we ignored them and did it anyway. It didn’t go well. Let’s just say she left home with no teeth and arrived back with 5!!

14) What destination is on your bucket list and why?
Anywhere in the Caribbean. I’ve visited a couple of times but I would love to explore further and it’s always the place I want to go back to whenever I think of somewhere to go on holiday.
15) What is your knackered Mama Style tips?
Jeans/Dungarees, tee, converse, longline cardigan and a delicate necklace
